the Cincinnati Reds
The Reds joined the National League in 1876 under the name of the Red Stockings. The Reds played in the NL for five years taking off the 1881 season. The team returned in 1882 to join the American Association but transferred back to the National League after eight years. The team now plays in the National League Central Division.
