About the New York Mets

The Mets (abbreviation for Metropolitans) Mets joined the National League in 1962 as an expansion franchise.  The team has won two World Series, in 1969 and 1986.  Alumni include pitchers Tom Seaver and Dwight Gooden. The Mets play in the National League East Division.
