the San Antonio Spurs
The Spurs began as the Dallas Chaparrals in 1967 as part of the ABA. In 1973 the team moved to San Antonio and was renamed the Spurs. In 1976 the Spurs merged into the NBA. The team has won the NBA Title twice, in 1999 and 2003. Notable alumni include James Silas and George Gervin. The Spurs play in the Midwest Division.
