About the Green Bay Packers

The Packers were started by Curly Lambeau in 1919 and financially backed by Curly's employer - the Indian Packing Company.  Early games were played in an open field with no fences or bleachers and interested fans made donations to the team to keep it going.  The team has won seven NFL Championships and three Super Bowls, I, II and XXXI.  The team plays home games at Lambeau field.
