the Edmonton Oilers
The Oilers began in 1972 as the Alberta Oilers in the WHA. In 1973 the team became the Edmonton Oilers and entered the NHL in 1979. The Oilers won the Stanley Cup in 1984, 1985, 1987, 1988, and in 1990. The Oilers play in the Northeast Division of the Western Conference of the NHL.
