About the Phoenix Coyotes

The Coyotes began in 1972 as the Winnipeg Jets in the WHA. In 1979 the team joined the NHL and played in Winnipeg until the move to Phoenix in 1996. The team has not yet won the Stanley Cup. The Coyotes play in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference of the NHL.
